By popular demand- Watson Racing is proud to release its Coyote Alternator Relocation Kit!
This is a service replacement part for the Coyote-powered drag cars, and created for those specifically using an ATI Super Damper in supercharged (10-rib) applications. Can be used in S550 MUSTANG. In some 10-rib supercharger belt systems, the 10-rib belt is wrapped around the alternator as well. In hard-launch situations, the tension and strain on the 10-rib system can cause the alternator and its bracket to flex, ejecting the 10-rib belt.
The Watson Alternator Relocation Kit includes a massive machined aluminum bracket that moves the alternator rear-ward, and allows it to be driven off of a secondary crank pulley (available from ATI). The kit includes the bracket, hardware, idler/tensioner pullies, and the 6-rib belt; the secondary crank pulley is available directly through ATI.
Notes: For off-road race-use only; was NOT designed to be compatible with factory air conditioning, though it may work with modification. Alternator’s new position is close to the k-member and frame rail; some clearance of the k-member may be required, and solid engine mounts highly recommended.
